I received a call from (941) 222-8279 with an automated recording "This is a call from iron point services. We are calling in reference to your account that has been placed with our office for further action. Please call the number shown on you caller ID to be connected to the live representative who is handling your account again this matter is time sensitive and requires your immediate attention." When I do a google search of the name there is a list of different companies that have the iron point as part of their name but none with that exact name. I know this is a scam because I do not have nor have, I ever had an account with this company.

The scammer left a voice mail for my mother to call back 860-339-8389. When she called back the scammer stated that they were contacting my mother in regards to a vehicle she no longer owns and paid for over 15 years ago. They stated that they were calling from an attorney's office and that my mother's account was no longer in collections and that they were offering her a settlement for $1,500 instead of $3,300 instead of transferring it to the judge at the Hartford Courthouse. They had my mother's former address from 20 years ago and the last four digits of her social security as well as an old email address. They offered to take a payment over the phone for a minimum of $330. My mother is disabled and on limited income. They threatened to send federal Marshalls to the house to serve my mother to appear in court on January 8 in CT. I hung the phone up and told them to email me the documentation.

Was advised by attorney named Kevin Segal I would be taken to court for non payment from company Houston Funding which I’ve never dealt with and never heard of such company. He also mentioned company BestBuy which I don’t have any account with such company. He mentioned I would be taken to court for non payment. I’ve never received anything from either company.
