I receive 1-10 text messages a day from Jefferson Capital Systems LLC, advising I have an outstanding dept. They provide a website and phone number for me to call and I did. I asked what information they would need to collect for the call so I could get myself prepared. They requested me to start listing my full credit card numbers, 1 account at a time to verify which account it is for (not the last 4 digits), a social security # (not the last 4 digits), and full name and address. I DIDN'T PROVIDE THEM WITH ANY INFORMATION

Upon checking my credit I reached out to Jefferson capital Systems LLC to console a debt in the amount of 1500$ Jefferson capital systems ( employee ) then told me to contact the number stated - 855-312-9808 to reach a settlement agreement upon googling the number multiple reports linking this number to multiple scams.

I had called this debt collection agency to pay off a debt, and they were steering me to not pay the debt, but to allow them to dispute the debt on my credit report to where I didn’t have to pay. I thought this was a little bit weird because I would think that they would want the money. This company had already been reporting inaccurate information on my credit reports and I had already filed a dispute with the bureaus by letter. The woman on the told me that if I paid one dollar she could pull my credit reports and let me know if this account qualified to be disputed. I was a little hesitant at first and continue to ask questions regarding the dollar and asked her if I was going to be signed up for some credit report business, and she assured me that I was not and that it was only going to be a dollar so I complied. Today I got a reoccurring charge from standard scores which I have never used or even heard of after looking into this company. It looks like they are a credit score reporting business so this woman at Jefferson Capitol systems lied to me and set up an account under my name, using my debit card that I provided for her thinking I was giving Jefferson the dollar to pull the report not a third-party company. After going to the standard score website and using the email to choose forget password so that I could access an account to cancel this service that I’d never asked for it said I had no account. I called the company and he said that I did in fact have an account and that he could cancel the service for me.

Good morning, I received this mail from Unifin (part of the Jefferson Capital Systems llc.). It was all in Spanish which I can't read.

I googled the company's name and called the phone numbers listed above. I spoke to an agent who read off the last 4 digits of my social security number and asked if it was me, I said yes then she asked for a payment. I asked what company this was from and she said paypal. I checked everything on my paypal account and there is nothing showing that I owe anyone and when I mentioned it to the agent she hung up on me so I called back and got another agent and told them that I will be reporting this to ScamPulse.com and making a police report as well.

On April 26th 2021 I received an email from Jefferson Capital Systems that was in my spam section of my personal email account. The email was addressed to another party different name and in regards to a Verizon account. The Email heading within had an old listed email that used to belong to me that I have not used and is discontinued for 3 years now which has absolutely no attachments to a verizon account and is affiliated with a cable company comcast. In the email they listed amount owed for Verizon wireless. I do not have a verizon wireless account and no past due amounts owed of the same. The way they structured the email if you click onto the reference number it sends you to their sight which attempts to trap you into agreeing to the terms if you acknowledge the agreement within accepting. My Gmail account was compromised and used for their purposes to display information about another person or party's personal information to attempt in collecting a debt I have no attachment to. Unfortunately I deleted the email out of my spam folder and have no way of attaching it to this report. I was afraid to even look at it because of it being in the spam folder this is why I did not trust it. Its a very scary attempt on their part to attempt this act and put someone's name and information into an email and send it to the wrong person and assume. I never received any correspondence in the mail regarding this alleged debt they are attempting to collect from the person or partys they are addressing it to. It is illegal for them to send texts or emails that trick or harass you into contacting them so they can collect money especially when the email is not even addressed to the correct person owning the email account they used. They engaged within that email the person's name and information about their debt. I consider this shifty and acting in a fraudulent manner. It's illegal for them to send texts or emails that trick or harass people into contacting them to collect money, according to the Federal Trade Commission. Just like the fake phone calls from the IRS and Social Security scams this is no different. Collectors are required by Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to send you a written debt validation notice with information about the debt they're trying to collect. It must be sent within five days of the first contact. I have never received anything like this from them in a written correspondence because I don't owe verizon wireless anything. If you go on the internet you see more and more types of this activity due to Covid-19 and its not unreasonable to see due to the crises of the Pandemic. Also I was reading many of the posted reviews attached to this company's ratings Jefferson Capital Systems and many are consistent complaints of same practices involving such instances as time-barred debt and blatantly disregarding federal statue of limitations.

Sondra [censored]e (?) left Vm to return her call to 614-603-9782 about a letter from Jefferson Capital Systems,LLC she received on a past due Verizon bill for over a $1,000. She knows nothing of this bill or Verizon. They gave her 3 different pay back options in the letter.
